TOMS RIVER -- A historical model of Dover Township's water system is a scheduled topic of discussion at Monday's meeting of the Citizens Action Committee on Childhood Cancer Cluster, committee Chairwoman Linda L. Gillick said yesterday.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the second floor meeting room at town hall, 33 Washington St.
Gillick said Morris L. Maslia, a research hydrologist with the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, plans to give a presentation on the water modeling, which is one of the centerpieces of an ongoing study of elevated levels of some childhood cancers here.
A computerized water model of Dover's present water system, as well as a historical model of the past water system, have been created in an attempt to determine the amount of water used by families whose children developed cancer, as well as families whose children did not develop the disease.
